Model of a tub-style tender designed for our big steam locomotive.
Ready to print on nano 3D printers
(min. required printing area 80*80*75mm).
Easy to print - no need any supports, brims or raft.
A tub-style tender has a very simple design. It mainly consists of a large horizontal tank that is flattened on the top. A coal bunker, wheel bogies, and other equipment are mounted on this tank. Because of its simple design, these tenders were cheaper and lighter than other types, but they wore out faster due to high stress and a risk of cracks in the tank.
During play, it is worth noting that when a steam locomotive runs with the tender in front, the train has a limited speed. This is caused by reduced visibility and a higher risk of derailment.
This tender model is designed for our big steam locomotive model. The toy is about 13.5 cm long, and when connected to the locomotive it forms a train with a total length of 35.5 cm. Since tenders were usually permanently coupled with steam locomotives, the model has a special front coupling designed only for use with the locomotive.

The axles of locomotives and wagons are plastic, so after long-term use, the vehicles may experience greater resistance and may creak while driving. To extend the time of trouble-free operation, we recommend lightly lubricating the axle with Teflon grease.
